Muni to change load-shedding schedule

The municipality's loadshedding schedule has been changed from today 1 June.

POLOKWANE – The municipality’s load shedding schedule has been changed from today 1 June.

The municipality used a 14 block load shedding system which has been revised to a 15 block, 24/7 roster on Eskom’s request.

The new schedule replaces the old schedule completely and has been implemented as from yesterday, June 1. Schedule 4 load shedding has also been introduced.

The new schedule means some areas might no longer be part of the same block that they used to be.

“With this schedule, every area should be effected more or less the same amount of time irrespective of the time of the day, thus ensuring that during a month all areas should have been effected equally, says municipal spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene.

“We urge our customers to familiarise themselves with the new system, as our technical team commenced with load shedding as per the new schedule as from Monday. Request for more information on this system and general electricity issues can be directed to the numbers 015 290 2490 or 290 2459,” Chuene said.

The new load schedules are available on the municipal web site www.polokwane.gov.za or the Review website www.reviewonline co.za
