Microlight crash in Limpopo: pilot killed

On Sunday morning at about 08:50 a micro light aircraft crashed just outside of Lephalale, Limpopo.

LIMPOPO – On Sunday morning at about 08:50 a micro light aircraft crashed just outside of Lephalale, Limpopo.

According to police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto, two people Wynand Karel Snyders (50) and a Johannes Snyders (16) were in the micro light when it crashed.

The microlight crashed next to the D311 Shonhwane Seleka road next to Ditlou village, Limpopo. Wynand Snyders believed to be the pilot, was killed.

Johannes Snyders was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital.

South African Civil Aviation Authority was informed. Investigation continues as the cause of accident is not yet known.
