Fatane murder: Suspects in court

TWO suspects appeared before the Mokopane magistrates court last Friday for the murder of the well known taxi owner Sello Gideon Fatane.

MOKOPANE – TWO suspects appeared before the Mokopane magistrates court last Friday for the murder of the well known taxi owner Sello Gideon Fatane.

The 56 year-old Fatane was shot and killed on March 27 in front of his house in Fourie Street.

Charles Mogale,(46) and Thabo Matlaila,(30) was arrested for Fatane’s murder and appeared before the court last Friday where the judge explained that it is a schedule six murder charge and exceptional circumstances should be proven for the granting of bail.

The case is postponed to May 15, (today) and the suspects remained in custody.

The investigating officer from Polokwane William Ramogobedi, stated on April 17 in the bail hearing of the three suspects accused for the murder of Charles Mgidi a member of the Mogalakwena Residents Association, (MRA), Mgidi was shot on April 4 at the Caltex garage on the corner of Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela Street, that he believes there is strong link between the murder of Fatane and Mgidi.
