POLOKWANE – Westenburg Secondary School raised their first school flag during assembly yesterday morning.
On May 25 the school will celebrate its 30th anniversary and in the history of the school this is the first school flag being raised at the school.
Together with the school flag, the South African national flag was also raised at the school.
Both flags were sponsored by Alet Bissett, an old learner of Jimmy Steele, acting school principal at Westenburg Secondary School.
Steele was Bissett’s gr. 12 Sepedi teacher in 1991.
Special guests who attended the historic event was acting circuit manager for the department of education, Hellen Peasall and members of the school governing body (SGB).
