A show of grit on the track
Schools from across Limpopo competed in the Limpopo Athletics Championships at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
POLOKWANE – Schools from across Limpopo competed in the Limpopo Athletics Championships at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
Primary school athletes competed on Friday, while the high school athletes competed on Saturday.
The provincial meeting was held to select athletes who would represent Limpopo at the national athletics meeting.
The junior national meeting will take place in Germiston from March 20 to 21, while the seniors will compete in Rustenburg from March 26 to 28.
Austin Makamu, provincial athletics tournament director, said he was happy with the schools’ support for the championships.
“Districts came out in numbers to support the meeting and I would like to wish all the athletes the best of luck in the national championships,” said Makamu.
He thanked everyone who made the provincial championships a success.
