Vhembe community receives water lifeline

Phalaphala FM's borehole donation transforms lives in Tshidzini Mutshili, ending years of water struggles.

LIMPOPO – Phalaphala FM in partnership with Murida Properties recently made a positive impact through their Rina Ndavha project.

On October 4, they handed over another borehole to the grateful community of Tshidzini Mutshili, which had been struggling with water shortages.

Previously, community members were forced to collect water from polluted streams and dams, often shared with livestock. The borehole donation, based on suggestions from the radio station’s listeners, marks a significant step towards solving this pressing issue.

Phalaphala FM brand manager, Rendani Mulaudzi, said the station is committed to extending the project to other communities in Vhembe.

“Many villages face water shortages, and we hope to continue easing these challenges,” she said.

The campaign invited listeners to nominate communities in need, with the station working closely with local chiefs and municipalities to verify and assist those in greatest need.

Chief Zwidofhelangani Muntsu expressed joy and relief.

“Our people have struggled without clean water for a long time, but now, thanks to this borehole, that struggle is over. I urge the community to protect this precious resource from any harm.”
