Lim Education MEC urges Gr 12 learners to excel

Limpopo Education MEC Ramakhanya motivates Gr 12 learners to excel in upcoming exams, emphasising hard work and preparation.

LIMPOPO – Education MEC Mavhungu Leule Ramakhanya encouraged Gr 12 learners from the Sinthumule and Kutama areas to focus on their studies during an engagement session held at the True Worship Christian Church in Midoroni on October 11.

The event brought together learners from various schools as part of a campaign to motivate them ahead of their final exams.

Ramakhanya pledged the department’s full support, urging learners to achieve excellent results that she said would make the province proud. She advised them to prepare thoroughly and warned against cheating.

“Don’t cheat, because you will be taken out of the examination room. Take time to read, but also make sure to rest. If you show up tired, you won’t perform at your best. Avoid extra boosters, as they can lead to burnout,” she cautioned.

She emphasised that many learners fail not because they lack knowledge, but because they are underprepared.

“We need to prepare learners well in advance,” she said. The MEC also raised concerns about the rise in suicide after exams, and called for proactive measures against this. Parents must motivate and encourage learners, while learners must stay focused and prepare consistently,” she added.

Ramakhanya reminded learners that education is the key to building the country’s future.

“Without education, the future of the country is at risk. No matter your background, success is possible if you remain true to yourself and set ambitious goals,” she said.

“Study hard and know where you come from, as it will help you define where you want to go. Aim high and always give your best.”

She urged learners to see education as the foundation for wisdom and a better future.

“Make sure you move forward. We don’t want to see any of you repeating Gr 12 next year. Focus on your studies and aim to go to university,” she concluded.

Speaking on behalf of the learners, Faith Ramahanedza expressed gratitude for the continued support from the MEC.

“We promise to pass with flying colours. We have been working hard to ensure we succeed at the end of the year,” she said.
