NA’s Bokang dreams of soccer stardom

Bokang Thaba, a Gr 12 who was part of the team who won the Kay Motsepe championship, says it is his dream to play soccer professionally.

POLOKWANE – Bokang Thaba, a learner at Northern Academy Secondary School, who was voted player of the tournament at Kay Motsepe Soccer Tournament this year, hopes to catch the attention of top Premier Soccer League teams.

Bokang, who is in Gr 12, was part of the Northern Academy’s u/19 boys team who won the Kay Motsepe Schools Championship in Rustenburg in September with a 2-1 victory in the final and they took home a R3m prize and trophy.

“I am happy to have won the award. It is quite a big achievement. It is my dream to play for a big professional soccer team in the country and even somewhere in the world. I am writing my final examination soon and my focus thereafter will be on how to further my soccer career.”

He thanked coach Hendrick Mukwevho for his assistance and guidance.

“I was at Maseala Progressive School in Seshego and even though we lost against their team last year, I played well. I will continue working hard at Northern Academy because I want to make it into the football fraternity.”
