FF Plus mourns the loss of Limpopo leader Marcelle Maritz

Marcelle Maritz, a member of provincial legislature, served as the Freedom Front Plus' provincial leader since 2019.

POLOKWANE – The leader of the Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) Dr Pieter Groenewald says the party is shocked and grieved over Marcelle Maritz’s sudden death on Friday night (October 4).

Maritz, a member of provincial legislature, served as the party’s provincial leader since 2019.

“Marcelle was very well-known in Limpopo and her passing is not only a terrible loss for her loved ones, but also for the FF Plus and her community which she served selflessly and with great zeal,” Groenewald’s statement read.

He added that the farming community was especially dear to her and there was hardly a single farm murder or attack that took place in Limpopo where she did not visit the victims or their next of kin.

“Marcelle frequently visited hospitals and always demonstrated much compassion for humans or animals that were suffering or in need. She will be remembered as someone who truly served and worked for her community. Her passing leaves a great void,” Groenewald said.
