Prost! to this year’s Oktoberfest in Polokwane

Bolivia Lodge hosted around 800 people for a lively edition of the Oktoberfest with the festival aiming to raise money for local charity organisations.

POLOKWANE – More than 800 food and beer enthusiasts from the city and neighbouring towns gathered at Bolivia Lodge for a lively edition of the Oktoberfest Beer Festival on Saturday.

The event offered guests the chance to sample a variety of beer brands, while enjoying the day with their families, friends, and loved ones.

A highlight of the festival was the performance by a touring German band, which captivated the audience with their live music and traditional melodies, adding an authentic touch to the festivities.

Horst Meyer, the president of Rotary Pietersburg 100 and the event organiser, said the festival aimed to raise money for local charity organisations.

“Our target was R60 000, with tickets priced at R300 per person.

“It was a successful event, and people had a great time,” said Meyer.

He also expressed gratitude to the community for their support, noting that patrons even gathered to watch the Springboks against New Zealand rugby match, which added to the event’s vibrant atmosphere.

“The festival brought people together, and it was heartwarming to see families enjoying quality time,” Meyer added.
