Women’s bodies found decomposed on farm outside Mankweng

A search of the farm revealed the body of the missing woman and another body of a 35-year-old foreign national woman in an advanced stage of decomposition.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo police have launched a massive manhunt following the discovery of two female bodies and a man hospitalized after a shooting incident at a farm in the Sebayeng policing area outside Mankweng.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the bodies were discovered yesterday (August 20) after the police were alerted about a missing 45-year-old South African woman who disappeared after visiting the farm on August 17.

“A search of the farm revealed the body of the missing woman and another body of a 35-year-old foreign national woman in an advanced stage of decomposition. Further investigation revealed that both women sustained gunshot wounds and were with a 47-year-old foreign national man when they visited the farm, who was also shot and is currently hospitalized,” his statement read.

Ledwaba said the motive for the incident is unknown and two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder have been registered.

“The identity of the deceased will be released in due course,” he said.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has instructed the investigating team to apprehend the suspects involved.
