Polokwane HR specialist nominated for award

Dr. Khomotšo Malete-Mashalane was nominated for Woman of Stature Awards for her dedication to women's empowerment through education and training.

POLOKWANE – Dr Khomotšo Malete-Mashalane, a distinguished human resources specialist from Polokwane, has been nominated for the Woman of Stature Awards South Africa 2025 in the education and training category, recognising her significant contributions to the empowerment of women.

A dedicated ambassador for global organisations such as the Research Foundation India, Hearts of Change, and the World Women Organization, Malete-Mashalane has championed women’s initiatives in alignment with United Nations guidelines, making a global impact through her work.

The Woman of Stature Awards, established in 2013, aim to celebrate the achievements of women who have demonstrated excellence, dedication, and resilience in their respective fields.

The awards not only honour these women’s remarkable accomplishments but also highlight their unwavering commitment to making a meaningful difference in society.

Malete-Mashalane expressed her deep gratitude for the nomination, stating, “Being recognised by the Woman of Stature Global Foundation is not just a personal achievement; it is a meaningful affirmation of the work I have committed myself to over the years.”

The award recognises not only professional achievements but also the resilience, excellence, and leadership demonstrated by the nominees.

The focus extends beyond winning, celebrating the journey of these women, their contributions, and the significant impact they have on their communities.

“One of the core reasons I believe so deeply in women’s empowerment is because I know that women are inherently multipliers. When you empower a woman, you empower her family and the community she comes from. This ripple effect is the driving force behind my work, particularly in these challenging economic times where youth unemployment is a pressing issue. My focus is increasingly on empowering young women and, eventually, extending these efforts to include both young men and women,” Malete-Mashalane told Polokwane Observer.

With an honours degree in education and a Master’s degree in human resources from the Edinburgh Business School, Malete-Mashalane has a profound understanding of the complexities of education and the employment landscape.

Her expertise in human resources has deepened her insights into the challenges and opportunities within the job market, especially for the youth.

The gala awards dinner, where the winners will be announced, is set to take place on April 12, 2025.
