Yin-Yang Karate Studio hosts Clash of the Dragons

The event featured over 90 competitors from various clubs and continues to be a highlight in the martial arts calendar.

POLOKWANE – Yin-Yang Karate and Self-Defence Studio hosted their annual ‘Clash of the Dragons’ all-style competition on Saturday at the Limpopo Army Sport Club Gateway.

The event featured over 90 competitors from various clubs, battling it out in four different divisions: kata, kumite, unison kata, and creative kata.

The competition saw participation from Yin-Yang Karate and Self-Defence Studio, LPKA Karate Club, Soutpansberg Kofukan Karate Club, JKA Pietersburg, and Ring Kings Kickboxing Club.

Sensei Annatjie de Jager, the owner of Yin-Yang Karate and Self-Defence Studio, expressed her satisfaction with the event.

“The tournament went exceptionally well, and the standard was very high,” she said.

The ‘Clash of the Dragons’ continues to be a highlight in the martial arts calendar, showcasing the talent and dedication of karatekas from across the region.

2. Best kumite
Janice de Bruin.

3. Best creative kata
Richard Tiltman.

4. Best overall performance
Nathan Weideman.
