Sinthumulekutama Ladies FC aim for promotion to nationals

Coach Libago believes his squad has the potential to secure promotion to the National Women’s Hollywood League by the end of the season.

LIMPOPO – The head coach of the Women’s Sasol League team, Sinthumulekutama Ladies FC, is excited with optimism as his team remains unbeaten at the top of Limpopo Stream A.

Coach Thikhathali Libago believes his squad has the potential to secure promotion to the National Women’s Hollywood League by the end of the season.

In a recent interview, Libago expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, praising their talent and quick adaptation to his coaching philosophy. “The team deserves to be where it is,” he remarked.

Questioned about which areas he would focus on strengthening, the 47-year-old coach emphasised the importance of bolstering all departments to ensure serious contention for promotion to the higher division.

Libago also mentioned that the club had not imposed any specific targets on him, allowing him to work without pressure.

“I understand that the league competition is a marathon, but we are ready to absorb the heat,” he said. He credited the support from both the management and the players as crucial to their success.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining the right mindset among the players. “Football is about energy. You have to read the players’ energy. If they are getting too arrogant, bring them down to earth. If they are getting too anxious, calm them down,” he explained.

He also called on local football fans to rally behind the team during matches.

With such a promising outlook and dedicated leadership, Sinthumulekutama Ladies FC are poised for a thrilling end to the season.
