TYCD equips youths with essential skills

TYCD empowers local youth through art, sports, and culture, and is now embarking on a new venture in organic agriculture farming.

POLOKWANE – As the country commemorates Youth Day on Sunday, Tswaranang Youth and Community Development (TYCD) reflects on its decade long commitment to empowering local youths. It has evolved into a dynamic social enterprise with a focus on art, sport, culture and agriculture.

TYCD plays a significant role in the lives of young people as it has equipped over 1 200 youths with essential skills, leading to valuable training opportunities and employment over the past two years.

The organisation is a beacon of hope and opportunity for youths.

The CEO and founder, David Letsoalo highlighted that 50 participants in schools across two districts play a vital role in supporting teachers with creative skills and curriculum.

This initiative not only enhances educational outcomes but also fosters a vibrant learning environment.

TYCD will be embarking on a new venture of organic agriculture farming, and they are investing in young people who understand the importance of self-sufficiency and sustainable environment.

The initiative aims to educate the youth about sustainable food production and food security.

“Our new organic farming project is a testament to our dedication to creating a brighter future for the youth of Polokwane and beyond,” remarked Letsoalo.

As Youth Day celebrations unfold, TYCD stands as a shining example of how community-based organisations can make a profound difference in the lives of young people by nurturing their talent, providing opportunities for growth and instilling a sense of responsibility.
