Mahlatze Vokal collaborates with Vicky Sampson

The duo teamed up on a new album released on May 29, set to resonate as a powerful anthem with South Africans of all ages.

POLOKWANE – Mahlatze Vokal from Seshego teams up with legendary ‘Afrikan Dream’ hitmaker and award-winning artist, Vicky Sampson for an uplifting new single titled, You Are the Light.

The duo teamed up on the new record which was released on May 29, the day on which South Africans headed to the polls to vote. Vokal told BONUS that he is firmly planting his feet as an Afro-urban soul artist.

Sampson added that she was quite excited for the country to hear the single.

“This is my first real collaboration with a South African artist, one from Limpopo to be precise, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Mahlatze and I share a vision for a brighter future for this country,” she said.

Sampson added that music unites people, regardless of the fact that they come from different backgrounds. “We both hope this song will uplift and inspire the nation, reminding everyone of the power they hold within themselves.”

Vokal added that Sampson’s voice is legendary and her passion for music is truly inspiring.

“Working with Sampson has been an incredible honour. You are the Light is a song about hope and unity, a message we believe South Africa needs, especially because it was released on voting day,” he said.

You are the Light is poised to be a powerful anthem that resonates with South Africans across generations.
