The Limpopo Impalas are currently undefeated in the Division 2 league and entrance is free to the public on Sunday.

The Impalas are currently top of the log and undefeated, having won all their matches of the Division 2 league.

Limpopo Impala Cricket (LIC) CEO Tommy Phiri believes they are on the right track to win their maiden title of the T20 series.

The home team started the series on a high note eliminating teams such as the Mpumalanga Rhinos, Eastern Cape Iinyathi and Eastern Storm.

“Our goal was to get to the division cricket with the red ball series and we could not get that. We learnt our lesson and we picked ourselves up. A lot has changed in the dressing room. Everybody is a leader and that is what we want,” Phiri told the Polokwane Observer.

Phiri attributed their good form to the changes they made to the technical team and the playing personnel.

“We lost two to three players to other cricket unions and we added more players to our team. There is leadership in the team, the change room has changed and players are eager for more success.”

He also mentioned the underdog tag is the driving force behind the team’s success.

“We are seen as the underdogs and the walkovers in cricket circles and that has helped us a lot because we want to change that perception. We want to establish a new image in cricket and that is the image of winners. We have a good team led by a good coach, and we believe in the whole squad and victory is imminent.”

LIC says the game will start at 13:00 and entrance is free to the public.

“Your finalists need all your support. Come in your numbers,” a Facebook post reads.
