Vehicle licence renewals finally resume in Limpopo

After a limited supply value forms, part of the order of forms has since been replenished allowing stations to resume with services.

POLOKWANE – Vehicle license holders who were turned away from traffic stations across the province are advised to return for services, following a limited supply of value forms used to process licence discs and other related documents.

This is according to information provided by the Transport Department on Tuesday following complaints from residents at the Polokwane traffic centre and beyond about being turned away from renewing vehicle licence discs, among other services offered.

The department’s Tidimalo Chuene said the forms are procured through an arrangement by the National Department of Transport and Government Printing Works (GPW) to process licence applications and that they recently experienced a shortage of forms.

“This negatively affected the licensing process, inconveniencing clients. But, part of the order of forms has since been replenished, allowing stations to resume with services. The inconvenience caused to clients is regrettable,” she remarked.

To that end, Chuene said her senior department is arranging to promptly meet GPW to find a long-term solution for the shortages.
