Limpopo Baobab captain hangs up her boots

Nthabiseng Mothutsi was quoted to have said she has achieved her goal and led her team with dignity.

POLOKWANE – After leading the Limpopo Baobabs netball team to their maiden Telkom Netball League trophy in June last year, team captain Nthabiseng Mothutsi has hung up her playing boots.

The 30-year-old lanky defender holds a career spanning over two decades, and has not only been a force on the court but also off the court as an inspirational figure for aspiring athletes around the globe.

She also formed part of the South African’s reality television show, BigBrotherMzansi in 2022, and has played an integral role in developing young netball players in the province.

Mothutsi was quoted to have said she has achieved her goal, led her team with dignity and straight up to where she said she will lead them to.

“A good dancer knows when to leave the stage. Everything I know now is because of the game and everyone I met thanks to the game.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure. It is not goodbye, I still have so much to do in the sport and the country. It doesn’t end here.”
