Top sports award for fencing coach Renuka
Chairperson of the Limpopo Fencing Association, Renuka Ramroop received a Women in Sport Leadership's Certificate of Achievement 2023.
POLOKWANE – The chairperson of the Limpopo Fencing Association, Renuka Ramroop was bestowed with a Special Recognition: Women in Sport Leadership’s Certificate of Achievement 2023 during the Limpopo Women in Sport awards that were recently held in the city.
Ramroop, an avid fencer, fencing administrator and fencing parent has developed a lot fencers and coaches who have won major national and international accolades.
She also won the prestigious Limpopo Sports Administrator of the Year award in 2020 and 2022, for the hard work she has put into fencing.
The awards were aimed at bringing attention to the needs and achievements of women who are involved in various aspects of sport in Limpopo. This is also beneficial to the development of sports in the province in general.
The MEC for Sport, Nakedi Kekana said they are proud of the women pioneers and the exceptional women who have gone to great lengths to challenge societal norms, while experiencing personal growth and achievement.
“We are immensely proud of all these more than capable women. We know that they will be more assertive and confident in society and can support the fight against discrimination and gender-based violence.”
