Penny Penny is back with a new single for fans

Eric Kulani Giyani Nkovani says he was happy to learn that Goyo Goyo was played in Europe, by Black Coffee.

LIMPOPO – Eric Kulani Giyani Nkovani, known by his stage name Penny Penny, has bounced back with a hot single, Goyo Goyo remake.

His initial breakthrough came with the recording and release of his 1994 debut album, Shaka Bundu, which was recorded in a week using little equipment, but went on to sell 250 000 copies in the country.

He recorded several albums, including Laphinda Shangaan and Makanjta Jive, both of which outsold Shaka Bundu. Although none of his albums were distributed outside of South Africa, he soon drifted into obscurity as the country’s music trends moved on.

Since 2017, he has also starred in his reality series Penny Ahee on Mzansi Magic.

King of Famba Dance Music signed a recording deal with Gauteng Based recording label Open-Mic Production.

His new single is a remake of Yogo Yogo, called Hai kamina Hey.

“Just a few days after the release, it hit the international charts. I am happy that I am releasing singles every week now. Now I have a full album, which is a complete remake of my previous songs.”

He says he has worked hard with various producers, including Mr Hazart and Ozzi Nation.

He says he was happy to learn that Goyo Goyo was played in Europe, by Black Coffee.

“To me, it was really a big surprise. He must keep playing local music abroad. I believe that all the songs that I am busy with right now will match the international standard.”

He encourages fans to dance to his music. “This year we are going to produce the hit that will lead us to the 2024 crossover, and become song of the year.”
