POLOKWANE – Two promising rugby players from Northern Academy Secondary School, Mfundo Dlame and Dickson Pesilo represented the school at the recently held Rhino Week in the Vaal.

The duo were part of the Limpopo u/17 team rugby team that competed for top honours in this prestigious rugby week.

Fred Romijn, principal of the school said they are truly proud of the boys.

“It was a good adventure for them and an opportunity to experience provincial rugby. They know how to play provincial rugby and what it takes for them to go further. They played against top players from various provinces and pushed themselves hard. They must just continue working hard and focus on their goals.”

Mfundo, who has been in scintillating form since the beginning of the year said he enjoyed his debut at the tournament.

“I met new people and learned from my counterparts. It was an opportunity to grow as a player and spread my wings.”

Rojmin said preparations for the Sevens Rugby School league, which starts in September, are well underway.

“We will be playing against PHS and Tom Naudé in the Sevens Rugby. We have an opportunity to win the league and that is what we are aiming for.”
