Bullseye for Lim Darts at nationals

Teams that are affiliated to the Limpopo Darts team competed at the South African National Darts Championship hosted in Durban from July 8 – 14.

POLOKWANE- Teams affiliated to the Limpopo Darts Federation were the big winners at the South African National Darts Championship, held in Durban from July 8 to14.

The federation was represented by the senior men and women team, four association teams namely Polokwane, Louis Trichardt, Tzaneen, and the men and women of Modimolle and Mookgophong.

For the first time in the history of the Limpopo Darts Federation, the federation was allowed to enter a master’s men and women’s team.

The master women’s team came third, while Chloe Coetzee of the Flying Rabbits in the Polokwane Darts Association, finished the event in the seventh spot.

Marlize de Ridder of Modimolle and Mookgophong settled for 10th spot.

Another top performer was Karin Prinsloo from the Louis Trichardt Darts Association who competed in the semi-finals – she ended in 16th position and overall 21st in South Africa.

Wimpy Faasen of LTT Darts Club threw eight 180’s for the week.

Marietha le Roux, the CFO of Limpopo Darts Federation said they were proud of the players who participated.

“It was overall a good week for the sport in Limpopo. We worked hard and achieved great success. It was a difficult tournament. We travelled far and played for the whole day. Our teams performed very well and we are happy with everyone’s performance.”
