Ohlotse (10) represents South Africa in the Dominican Republic

POLOKWANE – Curro Heuwelkruin learner Ohlotse Modise (10), the reigning Miss Pre-Teen Mundial South Africa 2023 recently ended second in the Mini Model World contest hosted in the Dominican Republic (DR).

Ohlotse travelled to the DR in June as the only African representative in the Mini Model World contest, joining 30 participants from all around the world.

Here, she ended second in the pre-teen top model contest, and best overall catwalk.

She told Review of her beauty pageantry journey.

“I started modelling at the age of five. I love modelling because it has so many benefits. I get to travel and see the world along with my family by my side to support me. Modelling gives me exposure and I also get to make new friends around the world.”

The young model landed at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on June 30 and was welcomed by her supporters.

On July 1, she was surprised with a homecoming parade in Polokwane, supported by Mercurius Motors Polokwane as they offered a GLC Coupe for the parade, which was joined by other pageantry girls, and moms from the city.

Ohlotse is currently on a media tour where she shares her experience and achievements with the country.

She started off at ENCA on July 2 and more interviews at other media houses are still underway.

During her trip to the DR, Ohlotse was accompanied by her mom, Tumi and sister Olerato, her aunt Bobo Koma, Miss Universe Teen South Africa National Director Ntombi Gumede, Merv Marv Coaching as well as her hairdresser and makeup artist, Fortu Sena.

She also has some community work lined up in and outside the city which is aimed at pre-teens and teen wellness and grooming.
