Empowerment and leadership workshop inspires Seshego youth

The workshop was hosted by the Arise and Shine Organisation and aimed to impart necessary life skills and soft skills to learners in the Seshego community.

POLOKWANE – The Arise and Shine Organisation recently hosted a youth empowerment and leadership workshop at the CM Sehlapelo Combined School in Seshego Zone 3 which was aimed at exposing and empowering young minds.

The workshop touched on life possibilities, teaching and embracing art, creativity and talent found in local communities.

People from various career fields were invited to unpack necessary information and the workshop pushed a mandate to assist participants and members in self-development, independence and provide skills to overcome challenges.

A brand architect Malope Ramolotja stressed the importance of building an online profile and how to use social media as a marketing tool. He also touched on competition and how it is important to have character that sets you apart from the rest of your competitors.

The event organiser and host Lesego Moloto said the organisation imparts life skills and soft skills that include public speaking, communication and leadership competencies.

“We want to empower people with access to information and help fight youth unemployment which, unfortunately, leads to the proliferation of crime in communities and the country at large,”Moloto said.

One of the attendees Daniel Malatjie said he learned that opportunities are there and that it is possible for someone from a township to become anything they can set their mind on.
