Ward 39 residents identify issues on oversight walk
The oversight walk led by DA councillor Adv Franco Marx focused on faulty street lights, potholes, trees on pavements to be cut, illegal dumping as well as illegal land use.
POLOKWANE- DA councillor for ward 39 in the Polokwane Municipality, Adv Franco Marx, recently invited residents of the ward to accompany him on an oversight visit to identify problem areas and shortcomings in their area.
Ward 39 consists of Eduan Park, Welgelegen, Hospital Park, a portion of Môregloed and the Central Business District from Grobler Street to the Indian Centre and the group made their route around the outer CBD as a starting point, identifying 50 matters of concern.
“We will cover other areas during future visits,” Marx said.
The exercise focused on, among others, faulty street lights, potholes, trees on pavements to be cut, illegal dumping as well as illegal land uses. Marx indicated that the matters will be reported to the relevant strategic business units of the municipality and that progress will be monitored.
“We will also pay attention to sites where work has been done without leaving the area clean and in good repair,” Marx explained.
Marx introduced a social media facility whereon the matters of concern should be registered and emphasised that it is not a chat group, but rather a place to report issues affecting the ward. The group is for residents of ward 39 and may be assessed on https://form.jotform.com/230359010374044.
