POLOKWANE – Noordelikes Rugby Club utility player, Burton Buys wants to help his team win the Limpopo Blue Bulls league.

Buys and the team have already won a few matches since the start of the league in April, and he is adamant that they have the ability to win the league.

“We have a team made up of good players who are determined to win every match. I think I can contribute to the team’s ambitions of winning the league. I am happy playing for Noordelikes, and what I admire most is the unity my team shows. We guide each other and stand together as a team.”

He says his family encouraged him to join local rugby clubs and their support is invaluable.

“My brother, who was a rugby player introduced me to the sport. He was my inspiration and the reason I love rugby so much. I had a good upbringing with parents and siblings who supported me.”

He says his biggest dream is to play for the Springboks.

“I have what it takes to achieve that goal. I just need to put in more effort into everything I do. I improve my skills every day and with every match. In the next five years, I see myself winning the rugby championship league that Noordelikes participate in.”
