PCS drummies to represent Limpopo at nationals

The head of drummies and teacher at PCS Modikwa Mohlake is confident that the team will do well at nationals.

POLOKWANE – Pietersburg Comprehensive School’s drum majorettes team won the Limpopo Development Drum majorettes competition held at Kruger Park Primary School in Mokopane on April 22.

They beat their counterparts from Jabez Christian Academy, Nirvana Primary School and Bet Shalom Christian School for the coveted prize, and will now represent the province at the national drummajorretes competition in Durban on July 1.

Modikwa Mohlake, a teacher at the school and head of the drummies, said she is confident that the new team will do well at the nationals.

“They were exceptional in pop-pom, mace, drill and flag routines. We have done well locally and it is time to test ourselves against other top majorettes schools in the province. We have prepared well. We have 40 new girls with a lot of energy and zeal to learn and prosper in drummies. We assembled the team this year and they have proven themselves.”
