Lilizela entrant offers peace, rest

POLOKWANE – VONANA Maja, owner of Vona Lodge in Polokwane, said she believed the lodge was well on its way to become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.

She recently entered her lodge for the Lilizela Tourism Awards. The Lilizela Tourism Awards recognise and reward people in the tourism industry who work passionately to deliver world-class products and services and whose products promotes South Africa’s global destination competitiveness.

“This is a family owned business. We believe that our guests come to us for peace of mind, so we have provided them with secure parking with electricity fencing and an electric gate,” Maja said.

The lodge was established in 2008.

“There was a problem with accommodation in the city so I decided to open Vona Lodge. The challenges we have to face right now are municipal rates and other guesthouses that charge R100 per night,” she said.

“We are a fully equipped three star lodge.

“Our aim is to help tourists with the best accommodation. We realised that people on long journeys needed a good night’s rest to ensure that they arrive safely at their destinations. That is why we provide the perfect facility to ensure a peaceful environment for optimal rest.”
