POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality concluded women’s month with a celebration dedicated to its employees.

Hosted at Jack Botes Hall on August 30, the municipality collaborated with other businesses to uplift women in their month of recognition.

Polokwane municipality celebrates women.

The celebration was key in demonstrating that women who support each other, either at a workplace or in their homes, elevate each other to greater success and attendees were pampered with gifts, lunch and other prizes won from a draw.

Municipal manager Thuso Nemugomoni described the celebration as a gathering of women from different backgrounds to make the month worth celebrating.

“Women are known for their multitasking powers that we see in the office and at home. They are special beings and they need to be celebrated for the hard work they put in day in and out.”

The event had representatives from both the municipality and the private sector engage with those in attendance on topics such as mental health, financial health and women in business.

“This celebration aims to authentically celebrate and support women because when there is support, women strive to succeed,” chairperson of the multi-party women’s caucus Cllr Doris Mphelo said.
