Bendor baboon likely to have left the area – Ledet
Ledet spokesperson Zaid Kalla said there has been no recent reports on the sighting of the baboon.
POLOKWANE – The baboon that made Bendor home for a fortnight is likely to have left the area.
The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (Ledet) spokesperson Zaid Kalla confirmed to the Polokwane Review that the primate had not been captured by officials and that since the implementation phase of their search and capture operation has “vanished out of sight.”
The baboon caused a stir in the area following several sightings in backyards and estates in the area with many concerned about the delays in the capture process as residents cited fear for their children and pets.
Kalla said there has been no recent reports on the sighting of the baboon.

The Review first reported on the primate on August 10 after he was spotted on the roof of a house in Bendor Drive. He had been spotted on the Soetdorings plots, Cycad Estate, Bendor Village, Sunset Boulevard, Natorp Street and other areas since then.
The animal was said to have been kicked out of his troop and was simply passing through the city.
