One arrested for cable theft affecting power supply at PHS

Supply to the school has been off since the early hours of this morning due to cable theft of a line supplying the school with power. 

POLOKWANE – The municipality’s maintenance team is currently working on restoring power supply to Hoërskool Pietersburg.

Supply to the school has been off since the early hours of this morning due to cable theft of a line supplying the school with power.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the municipality’s by-law enforcement team, police and private security arrested a suspect for tampering with and damaging essential public infrastructure.

“The municipality appreciates the community’s co-operation in the fight against criminal activities and we urge them to continue to safeguard their service infrastructure,” he said.

Suspicious activity can be reported to the Municipal by-law enforcement office at 015 023 5484 or to the police at 08600 10111.
