R250 000 reward for information on Limpopo mayor’s killers

The mayor of the Collins Chabane Local Municipality Moses Maluleke was gunned down in his home on Thursday (July 21).

LIMPOPO – A R250 000 reward is being offered for any valuable information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for the murder of the Collins Chabane Local Municipality mayor Moses Maluleke.

Limpopo police said callers can opt to remain anonymous and information received will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Maluleke was gunned down in his home on Thursday (July 21) after three armed suspects entered his home in the Shikundu village under Saselamani policing area.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the suspects demanded money, shot Maluleke and his 18-year-old son and fled the scene.

“The Mayor died instantly while his son sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital,” he said.

The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe assembled a task team to probe the incident and intensive investigations are underway.
