VIDEO: Hundreds march against bail for ANC double murder accused

The community and various role players joined a 'no bail' mass march in Mokopane ealier today before the bail hearing of two accused arrested in connection with the murder of Raplh Kanyane and Vaaltyn Kekana.

MOKOPANE – Hundreds of residents and role players joined a ‘no bail’ mass march orgainsed by the Congress of the South African Trade Union (Cosatu) in the Mokopane CBD earlier today (May 19).

Members marched before the continuation of the bail hearing of two accused arrested in connection with the murder of Raplh Kanyane and Vaaltyn Kekana.

Only two of the suspects, Jabu Mashamaite and Mswazi Chuma applied for bail while the other suspects have abondoned their applications and will apply at a later stage.

Cosatu member Desmond Mochaki told Bosveld that justice is long overdue.

“It has been three years now that our comrades have passed away. The two men applying for bail said they have families to provide for, but what about the families of the murdered, their children are also suffering.”

Mochaki said the community is angry and he cannot guarantee what will happen if the two accused are granted bail.
