Child (9) killed in pedestrian incident on R71

The road has since been cleared and opened to motorists.

POLOKWANE – Transport media liaison officer Mike Maringa has confirmed that a nine-year-old girl has died following the incident.

“Another two pedestrians sustained serious injuries after the trio were nocked down by a sedan at around 13:00,” Maringa added.

The road has since been cleared and opened to motorists.

POLOKWANE – Motorists travelling on the R71 towards Tzaneen are urged to use alternative routes following an unconfirmed, fatal pedestrian incident.

According to the Polokwane Alerts group, one person has reportedly been killed after three people were knocked over near Laduma Hardware in Nobody.

Traffic is currently backed up just after the total garage towards Mankweng.

The road is said to be closed and emergency services are currently on scene.
