“The school gates were locked and police broke the padlocks to gain access to the premises. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the staffroom block where stationary, laptops, printing machines and other items were kept, had been torched. Firefighters were called to the scene,” he said.

Seabi said further investigations revealed that one of the classrooms where food for the school’s feeding scheme was kept, was broken into and food parcels were missing, while others were scattered across the premises.

“A hole in the school’s wire fence was discovered and food parcels were dropped or left next to the fence by the unknown suspects,” he said.

Seabi added that the total value of the damaged property is unknown and that anyone with information that can assist with investigations should contact the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Mzamane Shivambu on 082 319 9724, the crime stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station or the my SAPSApp.
