Speedster arrested for clocking 180km/h on the N1

The 30-year-old man was arrested near Mookgophong earlier today (April 13).

POLOKWANE – A 30-year-old man was arrested for speeding on the N1 on Wednesday afternoon (April 13).

Transport media liaison officer Mike Maringa said the man was caught driving 180km/h in a 120km/h zone in a VW sedan near Mookgophong.

“The man was arrested and locked up at the Mookgophong police station and is expected to appear in court soon,” he said.

The Limpopo Department of Transport said they will increase visibility on Limpopo’s roads over the upcoming Easter weekend and has encouraged motorists to abide by the rules of the road.
