Power in Extension 91 off due to cable theft

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality said another incident of cable theft has left users in Extension 91 without power in the area opposite the South African Brewries.
Municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala said a team is working on restoring power supply and that the municipality will provide regular updates on restoration time once details are made available.
“Affected users are urged to treat all electrical wiring as live and are to switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage once supply is restored,” his statement read.
Selala added that power supply has been restored in the Industrial area, which affected Coca-Cola and surrounding businesses, as well as properties in the Bendor area.
“The outage was due to an electrical fault on their supply line,” he said.
