Next challenge awaits Polokwane Bowls Club

The group's next challenge is the Limpopo Fours Bowls Tournament set for Polokwane on February 5.

POLOKWANE – Torrential rain in Tzaneen over the weekend has not deter the preparations of Polokwane Bowls Club members.

They were set to compete in Tzaneen on January 29, however the match was halted by the rain.

“However, we have prepared well for our upcoming event. We started on Monday and everyone is happy and looks forward to the tournament,” said club chairperson Coenie Venter.

The group’s next challenge is the Limpopo Fours Bowls Tournament set for Polokwane on February 5.

Here they are set to compete against bowls clubs from Louis Trichardt, Bela-Bela, Marble Hall and Mokopane.

Polokwane will be represented by 16 players that include seasoned campaigners Lyn Lambert, Frank Lambert and Dirk Steyn.

Venter mentioned that after the event in Polokwane, they will travel to Mpumalanga for a provincial bowls competition.

“Everyone is happy to play every week. We look forward to more events, including the Inter Districts Bowls Challenge set for March in Polokwane.”
