[PHOTOS] Yin-Yang karatekas graded

Yin-Yang Karate and Self-Defense Studio hosted a grading event in December 2021, for which the students were awarded last Monday.

POLOKWANE – The karatekas continued to work hard and practise over the holidays and was rewarded with the good news that all of them were graded to their next belt level and passed their grading with flying colours. Retha Janse van Rensburg graded to yellow belt for her exceptional hard work and dedication within the club.

Yin-Yang Karate and Self-Defense Studio owner sensei Annatjie de Jager told Polokwane Observer their classes went on as normal in December so that the students could catch up with lost time due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The students prepared to participate in various annual competitions this year which features weapons kata, kata and kumite styles.

“We are so proud of everyone who did their best and showed pride in their work. All karatekas trained and worked on their fitness levels, which clearly indicates that they all deserved a certificate, but unfortunately we must award the students who showed the most dedication so they can motivate others. Karate is a way of life,” she said.

The students in the club are aged from four years and older and Annatjie emphasises that she is a very proud sensei.
