Noordelikes players, coaches excited to return to the field

The amateur rugby season was suspended last year due to the high rate of Covid-19 infections in the country.

POLOKWANE – Noordelikes Rugby Club’s players and the technical team members resumed practice on January 11 in preparation for the 2022 season scheduled to resume in March.

Head coach of the club, Frederick Romijn, said the team will have practice sessions from 18:00 to 19:30 to accommodate the players who work during the day.

“We will practise from Monday to Thursday and matches will be played on Saturdays and Sundays. We will also play friendly matches on weekends to prepare for the league.

“The spirits are high in the club and all players are looking forward to the season. We hope there won’t be any interruptions and things will go smoothly.”
