Plenty of laughs at ANC comedy night
Well-known comedians took to the stage at Masana Lodge last Friday as the African National Congress (ANC) celebrated their 110th anniversary.
POLOKWANE – Members of the party who attended the event expected medicine in the form of laughter to kick the weekend’s festivities off. Members of parliament such as acting chairperson of the Polokwane sub-region, Sally Ledwaba were also in attendance.
Comedian Lebo ‘Queen Skwatakwata’ Mpyana was the master of ceremonies (MC) and started the evening off with a few jokes before the official programme began and other comedians hit the stage. Madibe ‘Leisa la Maisa’ Mahlatji was first up and last to perform was Limpopo-born and crowd favourite, Mashabela Galane, who told jokes about various cultures, education and life events in general.
Every comedian captivated the audience well enough to have everyone in stitches with their sets.
“The thing I love about comedy nights is that you never know what you are going to get, it’s always a new, hilarious experience, especially when you’re enjoying it with friends,” Sally told BONUS.
To wrap up, Queen Skwatakwata changed her outfit and closed the show and those in attendance enjoyed good food, refreshments and music after the three-hour comedy session.
