Karatekas ready to take on Clash of the Dragons

Ying Yang Karate and Self Defense Studio had a karate and fitness event at the parking lot of Driver Centre Tyre & Fitment shop on October 30.

POLOKWANE – The day’s aim was to get the karatekas in shape for the Clash of the Dragons event coming up on November 6. Alicia Naudé from the shop welcomed the group and offered some tyres to be used in the training session.

Sensei Annatjie de Jager says while the rest of Polokwane only started to wake up, the karatekas were up early to demonstrate what the sport is all about. “It is a way of life and we are grateful for the opportunity to show our capabilities and skill, particularly with the activities using tyres that were sponsored by the shop. We’re able to demonstrate our technique when we practise with tyres.”

She says despite the hot morning, the karatekas showed that they could endure the heat, sweat and exercises in any condition.

“We are working hard towards our Clash of the Dragons competition, and we expect more than 100 competitors,” she said.
