Tommie netbal players 8th best in South Africa

Netball teams from four schools represented Limpopo during the Kay Motsepe Cup.

POLOKWANE – The tournament took place at Hoërskool Bekker in Magaliesburg on October 15 and 16. Tom Naudé Technical High School sent their u/15 team and won six out of the seven games in their pool.

After all the hard work the team went on to play against the winner of the second pool, Afrikaans Hoër Meisies Skool (Affies). They gave their best, but Affies won the game 30-3.

Next they went on to play against Paarl Gimnasium, who also won the match 19-9. This put them in a position to compete for the seventh or eighth place in South Africa where they lost the game against Hoërskool Ben Vorster 16-14, and ended in eighth place.

Coach Zandré van de Vyver is very proud of her team. “During the matches we learned a lot from other players and coaches.We received valuable lessons on and off the court as well. We strive to have good sportsmanship and took the opportunity to support the other Limpopo teams. We made new friends and learned new skills. Thank you to everybody who supported us.”
