Seshego woman missing for 3 weeks

Sanah Mpho Senyatsi has been missing since October 13 and her family pleads with anyone who knows anything about her disappearance to come forward with the information.

POLOKWANE – The Seshego community banded together on October 22 to offer prayers and support to the family of Sanah Mpho Senyatsi, who has been missing since October 13.

The Seshego community banded together on October 22 to offer prayers and support to the family of Sanah Mpho Senyatsi, who has been missing since October 13.

Seshego Community Against Crime and Gangsterism (SCAGAG) chairperson Vincent Kunutu says Sanah’s disappearance brings back old wounds of Kopigelo Mohale, who also went missing two years ago.

Kunutu says in times like these it is important for communities to be there for each other and to offer support to the victim’s family.

“We will not forget about Sanah, like we have not forgotten about Kopigelo. We asked the community to check up on the family, and to assist wherever they can. It must be difficult to go to sleep every night not knowing where your daughter is. SCAGAG will always remember to keep an eye out and we urge everyone to do the same. Somewhere out there someone knows what happened and we urge them to come forward and assist the police. We have also offered a cash donation to assist in this time of need.”

Sanah’s sister Tshego Manaka says the family hasn’t been the same after her disappearance and they are pleading with anyone who can help, to offer their services to the Seshego police with whom the case was opened.

Sanah went missing after a woman came to her home saying she had been sent by someone to fetch her, as she had been job hunting, and take her to a shisanyama where she would be given employment.

“She was excited to get a job, and we knew the person who had apparently referred her so we let her go. She left wearing blue jeans, grey sandals, a peach jacket and a jean handbag. An hour after she left she called us to tell us everything was going well and she had landed the job.”

Tshego says right after Sanah left, their mother went to the woman who referred her and the woman said she didn’t know anything about a job offer, this is when the family became skeptical but because they had spoken to Sanah, they didn’t do anything about it.

Later that day, Sanah called them back to tell them she had even received a uniform and the excitement in her voice eased the prior fear and they were just glad she would be working.

“At 15:00 her child called her twice but the phone wasn’t picked up. A few minutes later they called again and this time a man answered the phone saying Sanah was still busy with work but he would pass on the message and she would call as soon as she was done. After this call her phone went straight to voicemail.”

When she didn’t come back that evening and her phone was still on voicemail, the family decided to look for her at her new workplace and when they got there to find the place no longer operational, it dawned on them that she was missing.

“It is frustrating to be so helpless, to not know where she is or how she is doing. A case was opened and we are told the investigations are continuing. She is a sister, a mother and a daughter. We are pleading with anyone who knows anything to come forward with the information.”
