Givers dish out meals to Polokwane job seekers

Bonwin Givers spread some love last Wednesday by giving unemployed people a meal.

POLOKWANE – Bonny Claudia Bvuma and Winnie Shokane from Bonwin Givers spread some hope among job seekers on Wednesday.

Bvuma said she wanted to address the challenges people in the city face and they used the day to give unemployed people food on the corner of Jorissen and Webster streets.

“We just felt in our hearts that we should help disadvantaged people and encourage others to give. We always felt it was imperative that we share the little that we have with the needy. We did some research and found that most of the people come to the city looking for jobs and spend the whole day without a meal,” said Bvuma.

She said the main reason for this day was to simply spread some love.

“We want to spread love. We have decided to feed the people looking for a job. The idea behind this initiative is to empower others. We noticed that people tend to look down on those who leave their homes and come to the city in the hope that maybe they will get piece jobs. We wanted to make sure they feel that there are some people who love them.

“As Bonwin Givers, we have to take care of the people. We have big challenges of unemployment and poverty in our community. Those who are blessed should share their blessings with the less fortunate,” she said.
