Planned electricity interruption for parts of city and surrounding areas

Multiple areas in the Polokwane municipal area will be without power supply for up to six hours this weekend. See here if your area will be affected:

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality’s Spokesperson, Thipa Selala, informed residents and businesses of a planned electricity supply interruption, which has been scheduled from Sunday (October 24).

“The power outage is to allow the electrical team to conduct maintenance and to install new high voltage equipment at the Gamma Substation,” Selala said.

The affected areas will be off between 06:00 – 13:00:

  • Industria;
  • Laboria;
  • Ladanna;
  • Ladine; and
  • Le Roux Ville

The affected areas will be off between 06:00 – 09:00:

  • Bendor;
  • Celtic Meadows;
  • East of McDonald Street;
  • Eduan Park;
  • Fauna Park;
  • Flora Park;
  • Magna via;
  • Mall of the North;
  • Savannah Mall;
  • Serala View;
  • Sterpark;
  • Thornhill;
  • Turfloop line;
  • Users supplied from Baobab substation;
  • Waterberry; and
  • Welgelegen

“All affected areas are advised to treat electrical wiring as live and to switch off all appliances during the downtime, to avoid injury and damage once power supply is restored,” Selala added.
