Jakkie Grobler murder: Case to continue in 2022

Jakkie Grobler (80) was murdered in her home at Koraal Aftreeoord on September 21 last year.

POLOKWANE – The case of the 32-year-old suspect accused of the brutal murder of Jakkie Grobler (80) is set to continue next year.

The man was arrested in Krugersdorp on August 18, where he appeared in a separate case of housebreaking in the area.

Grobler was alone at her home at the Koraal Aftree Oord on September 21, 2020 when an intruder gained access to the premises, attacked and killed her.

The suspect robbed her of her cellphone and cash before fleeing the scene.

The suspect, who originates from the Eastern Cape, was set to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today (October 13).

National Prosecuting Authority Limpopo spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi told Review that the man will be back in court on June 1, 2022. “The suspect has been booked to be assessed if he will be able to stand trial,” she added.
