Gymstars gymnasts tumble for top spots

Gymstars recently participated in the Aerialnastix Tumbling Competition at Eagles Tumbling Club as well as the provincial women's and men's artistic competition.

POLOKWANE – “I am extremely proud of my gymnasts. I am also proud to be able to say all of them made the Limpopo gymnastics team and will compete in the South African Gymnastic Games in October,” says Lelanie Logtenberg, head coach of Gymstars.

Aerialnastix Tumbling:

• Rhéze Tilburn (level 2) second overall on the mini trampoline.

• Durandt Boshoff (level 5) first overall in tumbling.

• Duncan Tilburn (level 7) first overall in the mini trampoline and first overall in tumbling.

Limpopo women’s artistic:

• Esmé Venter (level 1) first overall with an average score of 37.9

Level 1 gold medal winners:

• Kalika Breetz

• Zee Ngubane

• Tayla Swart (level 2) second overall.

• Rhéze Tilburn (level 2) fourth overall.

Level 2 gold average:

• Leila Hoogendyk

• Tayla Sneddon

Level 2 silver average:

• Carli Engelbrecht

Level 3

• Annebelle Kemp second overall.

• Liané Swarts third overall.

• Sadie du Preez received a gold medal average.

• Viané Joubert received a silver medal average.

• Haylie Anders received a bronze medal average.

Limpopo men’s artistic:

Level 4

8-10 years

• Daveed Joubert first overall, three gold medals and one silver medal for four apparatus.

• Yonatan Joubert second overall, a gold medal for the high bar and three silver medals for other three apparatus.

11-12 years:

• Hugo du Plessis first overall, a first place on all apparatus and scored a 10.00 on P-bars.

Level 6:

10-14 years:

• Durandt Boshoff first overall and four gold medals for apparatus.

15-18 years:

• Wihan Logtenberg first overall and four gold medals for apparatus. He scored a 10.00 on vault.
