Baobabs on course

Limpopo Netball Association president Christina Shikwambana has attributed Limpopo Baobabs performance in the Telkom Netball League to good preparations and support from their stakeholders.

POLOKWANE – The team has thus far won four matches in the league and occupies the third position with 10 points.

They salvaged victories against Diamonds, Aloes, Sunbirds and lost to Comets and Tornadoes.

“These are the results of the hard work we put in before the commencement of the league. We had three training camps which were supported by Limpopo Sport Academy and those camps helped us, because they gave the technical team the opportunity to know the players and their strengths.

“We did not have this in the past, the coaches did not have ample time to prepare the team but this year we started early.

The camps also gave players an opportunity to get to know each other, their style of play and it shows on the court.”

She stressed that their goal is to make history and win the league title.

“We will be playing other matches in October and we want to continue with the same form. It will be great to come back home with gold medals. It is possible, we don’t want to finish the league in the last position. We just have to perform well in all the matches and also get maximum points in every match.”
